SCORCHED EARTH!!! PLEASE READ!!! PLEASE REPOST!!!!

My wife and I have been loyal customers at Sunshine Automotive for years. The owner, Steve Kendrick used to be great, but today he called my wife a "F***ing stupid B***t" on a phone call.

Last Spring we purchased a set of tires from them for our 2003 Suzuki Forenza. Since then we have had two flat tires, due to bent wheels according to Steve.

The most recent happened a couple of weeks ago, and we made an appointment, despite the fact that Steve was rude to my wife once before, to have the tire changed, and an oil change.

A day passes and Steve calls my wife, and informs her that her battery is dead, despite the fact that we had started the car and drove it on a donut to the shop. Steve also indicated that the alternator belt needed to be replaced. Begrudgingly, we accepted this and told him to go ahead and fix it before we ended up with a bigger problem.

Another phone call comes, and Steve informs my wife via voicemail that we had apparently driven the car with a flat for a long time, because the tire is ruined, and it will be another $96.00.

Since the tires were purchased less than a year earlier, my wife phoned Steve to ask if they were still covered under a warranty. Steve began to yell at my wife, and ask if she was calling him a liar. He then informed her that she was a stupid B***t.

My wife simply told him to charge us for the work that had been done, and not to put the wheel on the car. So, we are driving off the lot $300.00 poorer, and still on the donut spare.

This is their business information so that people don't get insulted like we did.

Not Feeling the Love

The most dangerous driver on the roads is the one behind the wheel of a white Caddilac Escalade. This is some rich jerk that doesn't care about your safety, talks and texts rampantly while making hairpin turns, thinks stop signs don't apply to them, and believes that the middle line is to be straddled.

Slightly scarier is drivers in other manufacturers of white SUV's who want to be the guy in the white Escalade.

Are We Too Trusting?

Fire

Putting gas in my car mad me realize how easy a Bic lighter can turn a pump into a flame thrower.

We are in an extremely vulnerable position, assuming that the person on the opposite pump isn't a suicidal madman or woman.

What if they have had a bad day? Maybe their spouse left them, they lost their job, and their grandma died all in one day? An empty gas tank could set them over the edge.

Then, you and I could end up like creme brule. Scorched!

Monday is Over and I Have Random Thoughts

How relieved am I that we are past that wretched first workday of the week?

I never really get anything done, and it feels so empty.

I have been thinking a lot about where I am going, and it needs to be re-directed a little. I need a new release. I feel edited in my work.

A novel is only as good as the soul of the writer.

How can I get my work into people's hands without exploiting the commercial aspect of the publishing world?

Is print really dying, or dead?

Do the products of the latest generation have classic books from my generation?

Was J.D. Salinger right? Hide away and write simply for enjoyment?

Many random thoughts with no clear answers.
